Ravn (Norse for raven) – the raven was an important animal in Norse mythology; the best-known ones being the two ravens of main god Odin. Odin’s ravens were called Hugin – Thought – and Munin – Memory. The two ravens symbolized Odin’s legendary ability to move through time and space; he sends them away in the morning as his “black spies”. Every day, they faithfully return to land on his shoulders and tell him news from the world in a whisper. Odin is sometimes referred to as the Raven God.
