Audhumbla – in the earliest time, the cow Audhumbla fed the giant Ymer its milk and licked Bure to life from salty stones. Bure became the ancestor of the Ases (the collective of Norse gods) and thus also of Odin. Audhumbla means “The Rich, the One Without Horns”.

Audhumbla, ko, der i urtiden nærede jætten Ymer med sin mælk, og som slikkede Bure frem af de salte sten; Bure blev stamfar til aserne og dermed til Odin. Audhumbla eller Audumla betyder “Den (mælke)rige, hornløse (ko)”. Det norrøne ord gengives på dansk som Ødhumble.
