The Norse word ’ragnaroekr’ (Ragnarok) means ”the destiny or the judgment of the gods”. Ragnaroekr is the Norse myth of the end of the world. According to this version of the universal myth, the sun will grow dark, the earth will sink into the sea, everything will be on fire; the world will end. Subsequently, Earth will rise again with possibilities of a new and better world for gods and humans alike. Ragnaroekr is also known as the Twilight of the Gods (Gudernes tusmørke).
