Máni (Moon) is a mythological being who controls the lunar orbit from his carriage. Máni was the son of Mundilfare and the brother of Sol (Sun). Mundilfare severely upset the Nordic gods by naming his children Sun and Moon. For this misdemeanor, they were placed in the sky as punishment.

Máni – Måne er et mytologisk væsen der styrer månens gang. Måne er søn af Mundilfare og bror til Sol. Aserne bliver vrede over Mundilfares overmod, da han kaldte sine børn Sol og Måne, og satte dem op på himlen som straf. Måne styrer med sin vogn derefter månens gang og råder for ny og næ.
