Glasskibe 2016 – 2026

2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the first Glass Ships, and the milestone will be celebrated with an exhibition at Backhaus-Brown in Hundested, along with a series of anniversary ships.

When the Glass Ship Regnfan was created in 2016, it was a sculptural experiment—a study of form, a story in itself. It was inspired by a fascination with the Viking ships that once sailed past the panoramic windows of the two workshops overlooking the mouth of the Isefjord. It was also an attempt to answer a simple question: can glass and wood be made to speak together? These ideas and questions were first explored ten years ago when the two workshops stood side by side at Hundested Harbour.

To mark the anniversary, a total of ten anniversary ships will be released. The first four on the exhibition ”Tigr” in Hundested, and then one new anniversary ship each month for the remainder of the year. The anniversary ships will be released on social media.
